Aelo Vera Sabji
ingredients:
- 1 large aloe vera leaf
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt, to taste
- 1/4 cup water
Instructions:
- Cut the aloe vera leaf in half lengthwise and remove the thorns and skin. Cut the flesh into small pieces and set aside.
- In a large pan, heat the coconut oil over medium heat.
- Add the cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds.
- Add the chopped onion and garlic and sauté until the onion is soft and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.
- Add the chopped aloe vera to the pan and stir to combine.
- Add the water and bring the mixture to a simmer.
- Cover the pan and cook until the aloe vera is tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- Uncover the pan and cook for a few more minutes until the liquid has evaporated and the sabji is dry.
- Serve the aloe vera sabji hot with rice or Roti.
